What is Destination Slum! 2.0?

Destination Slum! 2.0 is a conference regarding tourism in deprived urban areas, often referred to as ‘slums’, ‘townships’, ‘favelas’ or other notations. It follows on the successful Destination Slum! conference, which was held in Bristol in 2010.

When will Destination Slum! 2.0 take place?

Destination Slum 2.0! is set to take place from Wednesday 14 May until Friday 16 May.

Where will Destination Slum! 2.0 take place?

Destination Slum will be organised at the University of Potsdam in Potsdam near Berlin, Germany.

What are the costs?

The conference fee is 100 Euros (50 Euros for post-graduate and non-waged researchers) and covers conference two lunches and two dinners, coffee and refreshments as well as a side programme.

I want to present paper, how do I do that?

Unfortunately it is no longer possible to send in an abstract to present.

I have had my abstract accepted, when do I need to send it the full paper?

The deadline to send in full papers is 1 May 2014.

Accepted papers are to be considered for publication in Tourism Review International.
